About
Hey! I’m Sam Dalton. I’m a software developer from Auckland, New Zealand. I’m currently studying software engineering at the University of Auckland and when I’m not studying I’m making websites.
This blog was set up for me to write problems/solutions to things I’ve encountered on my journey as a web developer. However, after reading the amazing books of Seth Godin my world has changed and now, along with writing about web development, I’ve taken to writing down my thoughts on the world (of the Internet) as I see it.
Don’t worry, I’ve got a number of categories set up so you can ignore those posts if you wish!
If you’re interested in any web work I’ve done you can check out my portfolio at samdalton.co.nz.
I’m also Chief Technical Officer (read: fancy title chosen to impress) of Vital Link Group in New Zealand. It’s a company that is working to promote giving fair trade gifts to people on Facebook. Our product is ‘Vital Gifts’ which is an application that lets people send real, fair trade gifts to each other. The products come directly from fair trade distributors in various countries (currently New Zealand only, we’re working on it!) and each sale lets all their friends know how cool that person is, because not only did they send someone a real gift, but they care about the origins of it and that it is ensuring someone is paid fairly for their beautiful work.
Well, that’s it from me. I really want to thank you for stopping by as well, it means a lot.
